Iraq has been affected by conflict for decades. Ongoing fighting in Mosul and surrounding areas has forced thousands of children and their families to flee their homes in search of safety.
With nowhere to go except camps for displaced people, many are now living in flimsy tents and shelters, which do little to protect them from freezing weather in the winter. Access to basic but essential needs such as food, clean water and toilets, is extremely limited.

When Islamic State (ISIS) forces attacked their village in Northern Iraq, Soleen and her family were forced to flee their home. Now living in a camp for those displaced by the conflict, Soleen attends a War Child community centre where she can play, learn and be a child again.
