AURORA and Ellie Prohan Join War Child UK as New Music Ambassadors

Norwegian singer, songwriter, and advocate AURORA and DJ, presenter, and radio host, Ellie Prohan partner with War Child UK to help raise awareness and support for children affected by conflict.

War Child announces AURORA and Ellie Prohan as our newest Music Ambassadors. The two household names in music join us in our mission to support children affected by conflict, using their platforms to amplify the voices of those most in need.

AURORA has a longstanding connection with War Child UK. In 2024, she dedicated her performance at Glastonbury to children in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Sudan, Yemen, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and has been a vocal supporter at various War Child events, including BRITs Week 2024 and Secret 7”. She has also worked with War Child on exclusive merchandise and signed artwork to raise vital funds for the charity.

Ellie Prohan cemented her name as a tastemaker in the music industry as a DJ, presenter, and radio host, highlighting new musical talent and throughout her career advocating for women, intersectionality, LGBTQIA+, Middle Eastern and marginalised communities. As a supporter of War Child’s work over the last year from hosting gigs for War Child’s BRITs Week to leading panels for the charity’s annual Day of the Girl shows, Ellie joins having formed a strong relationship with the charity.

AURORA said; “War Child is an organisation I’ve always admired. They have always worked in a way I truly respect. To know how to interfere without overstepping, or changing what does not need to be changed. I am incredibly honoured to have met some of the beautiful people working with War Child, so becoming an ambassador is honestly a dream come true. Especially now, when the world needs people to be there for each other. More than ever. There is a lot of work to do, and I am ready to offer whatever I can. Thank you!”

Ellie Prohan commented; “I admire the work War Child do, and how much they’ve helped children and families affected by war. Being a war baby myself and knowing how much my mum struggled coming from war, I feel like it's a full circle moment to be a part of a charity who works so hard to support those affected by lifelong trauma and suffering. I'm so proud to be part of War Child.”

War Child UK’s Live Music Lead, Clare Sanders-Wright, said; “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome these two powerhouses in the music industry to the War Child family. All of our ambassadors demonstrably care about our work and do extraordinary things to raise awareness and much-needed funds to support us in providing emergency aid, protection, education, and specialist mental health support to children all over the world impacted by conflict. Both AURORA and Ellie’s unwavering commitment to social justice issues and their abilities to connect with people, especially young people, makes them the perfect fit for War Child’s ambassador programme. Their work has and will continue to bring much-needed visibility to the challenges faced by children in war zones, and will help drive the conversation forward about how we can ensure a brighter future for every child living through war.”

AURORA and Ellie’s first official roles as War Child ambassadors will see them support War Child’s ongoing initiatives, including fundraising campaigns, advocacy, and creative endeavours to raise awareness around the needs of children affected by war.
