War Child Lebanon team is working in shelters in Tripoli, North Lebanon.

The situation in Lebanon

War Child is extremely worried by the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon.

Israeli airstrikes have reportedly killed over 2000 people in Lebanon, including children. Thousands more are injured, displaced and terrified for their lives.

Lebanon currently hosts the largest number of refugees per capita worldwide. For many of the children affected by this conflict, fighting and violence is all they’ve ever known.

It’s heartbreaking that the most vulnerable are being caught up in conflict – again.

War Child are working to support children and their families in Lebanon, now, when they need it the most.

War Child’s team in Lebanon are working in 14 shelters, working with volunteers from our partner organizations to reach as many children and their families as possible.

We are working hard to:

  • Create safe spaces within schools for Children to visit and take part in Psychological First Aid.
  • Collaborate with partners like UNICEF to provide chairs, tables and other essential materials to schools. Allowing children to continue with their education despite the violence they are witnessing.
  • Provide hot meals to children and their families who have are taking shelter in refugee camps in Beirut.
  • Distribute essential items like hygiene kits and ready to eat meals.
