War Child UK - the specialist charity for children caught up in conflict - has today announced a ground-breaking new charity campaign, in association with dozens of games content creators, developers and publishers.
Game Action will incorporate two key strands: The War Child Winter Streaming Festival, and The War Child Winter Sale. All money raised will help to fund War Child's mission: to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children caught up in war.
The War Child Winter Streaming Festival will run from 23 October to 28 November 2021. A ‘celebration of gaming culture’, gaming fans from all over the world will be able to tune in to watch many of their favourite streamers having a blast online, all while raising money for a good cause. Kicking off with a 11-hour marathon stream from DIVA, Game Action will also feature the global reveal of Football Manager 2022 Xbox Edition. War Child has also partnered with various streamers and creators to bring incredible content to their fans across the five weeks. All streams will be free to view on Twitch.tv and donations will be taken via Tilitify.

The War Child Winter Sale will run from 2 November to 9 November 2021 and will be War Child’s largest sale to date. With dozens of games across multiple genres, gamers will be able to grab a bargain on Steam or Google Play and know that some or all of the royalties will be going to War Child.
Head of Gaming Partnerships at War Child, David Miller said: "2020 and 2021 have been incredibly tough for everyone in and around games. We knew that something different and innovative was needed if we were going to maintain our position as one of the leading charities working in the games space. The reaction of creators, devs and publishers to our plans has been overwhelmingly positive and we are so incredibly thankful to everyone for their continued support of War Child. We hope that everyone involved has a great time with this and comes back next year for more!"
The full schedule of events for the War Child Winter Streaming Festival will be made available at launch on War Child's social channels. The participating games in the War Child Winter Sale will be announced on Steam at 10 am on 2 November.

About War Child UK
War Child UK is the only specialist charity for children affected by conflict. For more than two decades we’ve been driven by a single goal – for no child’s life to be torn apart by war. We aim to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out and stay to support them through their recovery – keeping them safe, helping them learn and cope with their experiences, and equipping them with skills for the future.
We understand children’s needs, respect their rights, and put them at the centre of the solution and campaign for changes to policies and practices to support children in conflict, working with children and young people themselves to demand their rights.
Together with our partners we deliver our vital, life-saving work in 15 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and Latin America. In 2019 alone, we reached over 100,000 children.
