In 2022 War Child UK were able to provide support to 256,700 children and adults - making it our strongest year ever.
We support children who have been released from armed groups in the Central African Republic to go back to their families, schools and communities.
One in six children across the world are living in areas impacted by war. Millions are out of school. Access to education, and to books, is crucial for children affected by war.
It’s almost impossible to know the exact figure but it’s estimated there are tens of thousands of children in armed groups around the world.

In 2013 we were supporting 62,236 children affected by war annually. Now, thanks to the players of the People's Postcode Lottery, that's increased to 165,237.
We are delighted to reveal that the UK government will double, pound for pound, all donations to our #LearnToLive campaign, up to £500,000.
War has been an unwelcome friend for children in the Central African Republic but, thanks to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery, many are building brighter futures.
